Zylia
For this Greek-Cypriot taverna in Covent Garden, we sought to bring together the warmth and familiarity of Mediterranean hospitality with the character of its London setting, a former Victorian boot blacking factory. The design draws on the heritage of restaurateur Barry Karacostas and the Athenian upbringing of chef Nick Molyviatis, translating these influences through a carefully considered palette of traditional and contemporary materials. Gerolakkos stone, sourced from Cyprus, and handcrafted Lefkara lace sit alongside stainless steel, stripped-back London brick and wicker, creating a dialogue between the familiar and the modern.
